BEAUTY ON A BUDGET II

... for non-superstars!
Tell me what you think of this non-superstar outfit, below in the comments section!

Hi everyone!
So, I've been busy for a while but now I'm back with new STARDOLL fashion tips.

Today's look is entirely non-superstar, just like this one, and Halloween themed as well!

But, before I reveal what the budget was for this outfit, there is somethings I'm quite excited about, that I must let you know of.
And that something is... well, there's a new feature coming soon to this blog! It's a dynamic and simple fashion advice column! I won't say more, you'll see for yourselves.

So, let's get back to our subject.
The outfit I put together is blatantly Gaga-esque, Halloween themed and very electric - a few  tendencies that are marking stardoll.com for the moment, and with a total cost of 29 stardollars !

The main piece here - that what makes this outfit worth looking at - are the new Printed Satin Boots by bisou.
They cost 6 stardollars, are non-superstar and absolutely amazing.

The matching gloves are the Orange Gloves @ RIO, that cost 4 stardollars.

I got the Catwoman Pants from Tingeling for 4 stardollars as well, but you can use any black leggings or skinny pants that fit into those boots. There are plenty of similar looking items all over stardoll.com.

Only 4 stardollars is also what the top my medoll's wearing costs. It's the U Neck Tank from Stardoll Girls, and for 1 sd only you can get the Brown Skinny Belt @ bisou.

On her right shoulder she's wearing two Seastars from the Suite Shop @ Pets (3 sds each) and her "make-up" is very simple!
Two red Face Hearts from Splendid, each one on the outer corners of her eyes. These are quite inexpensive too - 2 sds - and can be found at the Jewelry section.

And that's it.

Please don't take this as a guide, just a little reminder that even superstars can look good and trendy @ stardoll.com.

November HB

Here they are, the new HB:

I think they’re nice, but they’re not so fabulous! I prefered October HBs.. But I’ll probably buy most of the items. My favourite items are the belt and the black Louis Vuitton dress..

Here’s my review, afterwards tell me what YOU think!

1. Rio shirt coming out 3/11: Like I said, this is one of my favourites! It’s inspired by Louis Vuitton and I love it! It’s so cool and I imagine me wearing it. It’s very versatile, I think you can make a various number of looks with it! => 9/10

2. Fallen Angel belt coming out 5/11: This item I love even more! It has my 2 favourite colours: Black and purple, it has a rock feel, will be buying it without any doubt! => 10/10

3. Fudge Rose shirt coming out 9/11: It’s nice, but not fabulous. I like the flowers on it, it’s gives it something extra, but that’s all .. I have to see the shirt in total to see what it’s like.. => 6.5/10

4. Pretty in Pink stretch tights coming out 11/11: The tights are alright, but I don’t think I can pull it off and that you can wear it with a lot. Don’t know if I’ll buy them, but I’m curious to see if anyone knows how to wear them! => 5.5/10

5. Bisou bag coming out 13/11: This I love! Again combining the black and purple! We’ll be buying it for sure! It has something artistic in it, it’s just fabulous I think! => 8.5/10

6. Bisou vest coming out 18/11: This item is very nice! I think you can make very cool rock outfits with it! I’ll buy it probably! => 7.5/10

7. Fallen Angel boots coming out 20/11: These boots are nice and cool.. I like them, I already imagine me wearing these in different kind of ways: with pants to go shopping, with a dress, etc… You’ll see! => 7.5/10

8. Bisou dress coming out 24/11: The dress isn’t very special for me.. It’s just very ordinary, I like the colour, but not in that much fabric. Don’t know if I’ll buy it. => 4.5/10

9. Rio necklace coming out 26/11: I don’t know what to think of the necklace, and if it’s worth buying it, can I match it with a lot of thing in my closet? A lot of ? with this item.. => 5/10

10. Rio skirt coming out 30/11: And last but not least is the brown high-waisted skirt that I love, it’s totally my style! With high heels, a belt and some chique accessories, it can be fabulous! => 8/10

BEAUTY ON A BUDGET

... for non-superstars!

That's right. A little edgy outfit I have composed solely with non-superstar items !
My Halloween gift for non-superstars, this time.

For 41 stardollars you can look like this !
I know, I know, not so much of a low budget, but the good thing is... you won't have to spend real money to achieve this look.
And, the main pieces (corset and "skirt") cost only 5 stardollars each. This means you'll be able to buy them in two days !

Those main pieces are:
* the new Stardoll Bag - 5 sds @ Stardoll Girls
* the Iduro Corset - 5 sds @ Fallen Angel

The bag, I am using it as a skirt.

Once you have these two pieces you can combine them with accessories that you already possess, or you can purchase the ones I will list below.

* Purple Gloves - 3 sds @ RIO Chicas

* Black Tights - 3 sds @ VOILE (free tights like the ones you get in your suite upon joining stardoll.com or the FAME pantyhose will do as well!)

* TM Ankle Boots - 5 sds @ bisou

* Laceup Oxford Heels - 5 sds @ stardoll archive, to wear on top your ankle boots

* Stardoll bangles - 3 sds @ stardoll Girls

* Fake eyelashes - 3 sds @ Splendid [Eyewear]

* Diamond Earrings - 5 sds @ Splendid [Jewelry]

* Braid (black) - 4 sds @ Splendid [Headwear]

And that's it !

You can complete your Halloween look with a stylish Pirate patch, also available at Splendid, if you want to. It costs 5 stardollars only, and it's also non-SS.

Happy Halloween season, non-superstars!
Remember, stardoll has plenty of wonderful non-SS clothes that can be combined to create a Super outfit ! Be creative and, above all, have fun trying out new things.

Love and happy styling,
- Daphne

HALLOWEEN MAKE-UP Step By Step

With Halloween approaching, I know many of you are starting to come up with ideas for your scary outfits. Gothic fashionistas, masked monsters, creepy vampires... all looks are possible and everybody wants to look their best.

Below you'll find a step-by-step tutorial for this Halloween make-up look I have come up with for my own medoll.

It's a gothic look, essentially, vibrant but very simple, yet dramatic, and it'll match anything so check it out !

[click the image to enlarge]

STEP 1 - Start with a fresh face. Take time to choose among the many facial features available and modify their position. Make sure your doll looks pretty, and her unique face shows some character. (Note: in case you're wondering, I chose the last eyes on the third row and the famous you disgust me mouth.)

STEP 2 - Apply one layer of Plum Lipstick. Then, apply another on the upper lip. It's no biggie if it gets on upper part of your lower lip, it's in fact preferable. (This is how I've done it. You can get a similar result by apply one coat of Deep Red Lipstick instead of Plum.)

STEP 3 - Apply one coat of Red Lipstick

STEP 4 - Put on your mascara. I used Black Volumizing Mascara.

STEP 5 - Apply your black eyeliner. I used Dots' Black Eye Kohl. Do not use fluid liner to do this, the effect will be very different. Emphasize the outter corners of your medoll's eyes and work towards the center.

[click the image to enlarge]

STEP 6 - Now it's time to apply your white eyeshadow. I used the White Collection Shadestick, but the other white eyeshadows will also work. Again, for this look, you'll want to apply a little bit more on the outter corners of your eyes.

STEP 7 - This step is very important. This is where you put on some white eyeliner, to lighten up your lids and highlight the inner corners of your medoll's eyes. Use the White Collection Eyepencil on your upper lids and the White Collection Liquid Liner on the inner corners.

STEP 8 - This step is crucial. Time to put some color on your lids with the Dusty Pink Shade Stick by Dots. First, apply a light coat on the area above the inner corners of your eyes. Then, apply a darker, horizontal coat above your upper lids (it should go above the white line you just drew with your eyepencil, not on top of it). And after this is done, focus on the outer corner of your eyes, apply your eyeshadow from the edge towards the center.

STEP 9 - With your eyes and lips done, it's time for some blush. I find the Magenta Blush by Dots to be particularly suiting for this look. As you can see, I have applied it vertically, along the edges of my medoll's face, stopping right below the cheekbones.

STEP 10 - You're done with the make-up! Time to see if there's anything you can change about your medoll's facial features. Try on different mouths and eyes, different hairdos and eyebrows. You'll be surprised to noticed that some fit the make-up you just applied way better than the ones you'd chosen!

That's it, you're done now! Have fun accessorizing creativily.

For this look I picked Gaga's black hairbow, for being so dramatic and peculiar, perfect for Halloween season!

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Happy Halloween season everyone!

Some things work

... others, not really.

yaelalon was spotted wearing a short sleeved shirt as her hunchback, a piece of furniture and... a giant rabbit.

What the hell.

Oh well, one of us is wearing candles. :P

Uninspired fashion statement? Clever satyre?

You decide.

Rawr_hyper14's makeover

Rawr_hyper14 asked for a makeover. This is what I came up with. What do you think?

This Halloween, be bold, be elegant.

Don't be afraid to use your darkest lipstick colors. Black and plum are IN.

A little blush would complete this look, but she didn't have any.

TIP:

* If your medoll's face is too pretty and proportionate, perhaps even a bit bland, feel free to go crazy with your makeup, accessories and outfit. Add dimension to your medoll, turn her into your unique creation.

Your surprise has arrived

Hello!

First of all, let me introduce myself! I’m Melissa and I’m your surprise, the new collaborator of this blog. I’m very excited to show you my articles and I hope you will like them, because this has always been something I wanted to do on Stardoll.

Daphne70 and I have discussed what topics I will do and I suggested that I would like to do the HBs. I’m also doing some articles including make-overs. And if there’s for example an item in Starplaza you want me to make an outfit with, don’t be shy and just ask!

If you have other questions (also about me), you

can always count on me! ;)

But now on to the actual topic of this article: The new HB jacket inspired by Louis Vuitton! I think for most of us, it’s quite expensive, but I think it’s worth the price, I see myself wearing it many times, because it includes my favourite colours.

Personally, I love it and so I definitely wanted to show you how I would wear this. When I see this jacket, I imagine a glamorous and chique look.

So, I made two looks, because I couldn’t chose between the skirt and the pants/jumpsuit. I don’t know if you want me to give some more information, but I think you can just watch the pictures. Please, tell me what you think of the two looks and which one you prefer!

SPOILERS! BARBIE FASHIONISTAS

UPDATE: THE SHOP IS OPEN NOW !

So, these are the new stardoll BARBIE spoilers. [click to enlarge]

They're extremely girly, in a japanese Barbie doll kind of way, eccentric and, well, SASSY. In fact, the stripped top reads Miss Sassy.

Some of the articles are way too over the top for my taste, but others are a must in any wardrobe.

Below, you'll find my selection!

[click the image to enlarge]

As you can see, I'm crazy about the purses.
Stardoll has been releasing wonderful purses lately (Miss Sixty's, wow!) and these are no exception.
Some of them aren't really my style, but irresistable nonetheless.

The dresses:
* The leopard dress is my favorite article from this collection.

It's quite flashy but it has a certain elegance to it, and a trendy allure that other items seem to lack. Plus, look at the gorgeous texture and pattern !

The shoes:
* Some of them were excluded from my selection because their shape seems a tiny bit tacky.
My favorites are the blue boots, which I bet will look great as the main piece and highlight of a darker outfit.

Accessories:
* The belts look great and are easy to combine with other pieces that don't belong to this sassy collection.
My favorite necklace is hightlighted but the others seem interesting enough to buy as well.

I will probably end up buying more items than those I highlighted for you, but these are the essential ones anyway.

TIPS FOR BUYING ON STARDOLL:

* Make sure the items of buy have a minimum level of quality to them. Avoid items that were poorly digitally designed.

What does this mean?

Well, look for pieces that look real. These will fit your doll better than others, and have better volume and texture.

* Buy items you can combine outside their collection.

Go to your Starplaza dressing room and create several outfits, in different styles, if you want to be 100% sure of your purchase.

Love and happy spending,

Daphne

rachinatorrox15's makeover

Hey everyone.
Today we have a special medoll as our model. And... a surprise to announce ! So, be sure to read this until the end ;)

This is rachinatorrox15  and she's the owner of the best makeover club I've come across @ stardoll.com: tinypicmakeover !

The members are actually active, whether offering or asking for makeovers, so be sure to check it out ! It's where I've got some of my models from and I'm currently applying for manager. ^.^

rachinatorrox15 had tons of make-up and accessories, but ultimately, I decided to keep her final look rather simple, and classy, as usual. Also, faithful to her original style.

I decided to tone down her make-up a little bit, make her skin and hair look monochrome and emphasize the eyes, for a trendy look.

In case you're wondering:

* I did use some of the dark blush she had available. But only a tiny bit, applied vertically along the extremeties of her face.

* The inner corners of her medoll's eyes are lined with White Shadestick.

TIP:

* Surprise everyone by sporting an unconventional hairstyle. You know, one of those that don't quite fit your doll. Some of them can look nice, so surprise everyone by making them work !

Now, for our own surprise.

Well, the surprise is, I will probably have a collaborator ! I'm very excited about this, and hopefully she'll introduce herself soon and bring us new features ;)

Guess who!
